[FreeVMS] How to build freevms on my debian squeeze?

Really appreciate your reply.
I'm a linux c programmer.
Suppose I'd like to help to contribute to FreeVMS, how can I do it?
And do I have to install bochs suppose that I want to emulate freevms?
